Jarryd Fillmore

Jarryd Fillmore is one of my new favorites.  He is an acoustic/ blues/ folk singer from Ontario, Canada.  He has a very pure voice that doesn't need  heavy background music, vocals and production.  His guitar is the perfect match for his soothing voice.

On tracks like "Long Days and Longer Nights", the passion is felt from beginning to end.  He reminds me of an early John Mayer.  I could definitely see him covering some Ray Charles or Donny Hathaway.  Please check him out on his youtube channel: www.youtube.com/jarrydfillmoremusic.  Also, check the video below of him performing "Long Days Longer Nights".  Enjoy!

Prettier Than Matt

This is Prettier than Matt.  They are a kick ass folk/rock duo from Columbia, South Carolina that is taking the region by storm. Their covers of "Sittin On The (Dock of The Bay)" and "Dream A Little Dream", their original songs "Miss You" (which happens to be one of my personal favorites), and "No More Tears", are very classic and soothing.  The main singer, Jessica Skinner, who also doubles on the ukulele, has a Mama Cass-like voice.  There is an old soul in this Erskine College graduate's vocals.  As for Jeff Pitts, he is the front man for the band Deleveled and shares vocals as well as guitarist of Prettier than Matt.  He balances the group out well with his rock feel to Jessica's folk sound.

Chrissy DePauw

When I came across Chrissy's music, I was amazed.  She has such an amazing voice and personality.  This girl is definitely going places!

A native of San Diego, CA, this 5’ 11” beauty may look like your typical girly girl, but she is far from that. Instead of playing outside with friends, she preferred to stay in and listen to music, sing and play her little brother’s xylophone.

With vocals very reminiscent of her influences Lauryn Hill (whose acoustic set she saw performed live is credited for inspiring her to buy and learn how to play the guitar), Amel Larriuex, Brandy and Stone Temple Pilots, she has gotten to perform at some amazing places. From Hard Rock Café to The Viper Room, Third Street Promenade to Room 5 and several colleges including Texas A&M, UTSA, Arkansas Tech, Slippery Rock University, Missouri S&T, University of California Irvine, and Cal State East Bay, there is no stopping this chick!

EP was released. The five- song sampler includes stripped versions of songs that are on her upcoming full length album “Somewhere Sweeter” under the pseudonym The Honey Escape.
