I have always felt that rappers from New York have to work so much harder to impress me and real fans of Hip Hop because that's the birthplace of it all. With what I've been hearing lately, needless to say I have been greatly unimpressed.
Then I heard this guy right here: LR. The Albany native has apparently been studying the heavy hitters that he calls his influences, because they can all be heard in his lyrics. There is a healthy mix of Cassidy and Kanye West on "Toast to Success". It's not your typical 'I'm doing good now and all you haters can kiss my ass' record. There's depth there. You can actually feel where he's coming from.
If you don't give this guy a chance, you're really missing out. I definitely cosign this one!
