H-Town

Everyone who is a music head remembers the slow jam era. The era in the 1990's when R&B dominated the airwaves and the talent of these artists was undeniable. Unfortunately, times have changed. Styles have changed, and a lot of the artists we fell in love with have faded to the background to make way for artists such as J. Holiday and Musiq Soulchild.

H-Town was part of the R&B explosion. G.I., Shazam, and Dino made up the trio that hailed from Houston, Texas. They are known for the infectious tune "Knockin' Da Boots", which in turn, caused their debut album to sell over a million copies. However, their follow up efforts were not as good of sellers as the debut, and they, like many artists of that time, were pushed aside for newer talent. Sadly, in 2003, Dino, one of the twins in the group, along with his girlfriend, perished in an automobile accident.

The two surviving members, G.I. and Shazam are back with a new single entitled "Knockin' Your Heels". It features the members of another 90's super group, Jodeci. As soon as I turned it on, I was instantly taken back to when R&B was sexy, sultry and pure baby making music. Everything about it says old school love making. These gentlemen are definitely a group that should be given another chance.
