Can Chris Brown Make a Comeback??

Unless you have been living under a rock for the past 25 months, you are well aware of the situation that occurred between Chris Brown and Rihanna on February 8, 2008. It was an incident that will always be etched in our mind, like a modern day Ike and Tina. The situation and details, which honestly none of us know nor need to know, were terrible and there is really no explanation good enough to ever see Chris Brown as the sweet, handsome, talented guy that every young man looked up to and every young girl wanted to be with ever again.

Rihanna was able to make a very successful comeback and become America's "sweetheart". She's on the cover of every magazine and she has a book coming out. The blackballing on Chris' end, however, has been so bad that he's recently had trouble booking venues for his 21^st birthday party out of fear of endangering present and future relationships with Rihanna.

What he did was wrong, we all know that. The question is now, has he been punished enough??

He has the probation, he has the fines and the community service. The toughest punishment, I feel, has been the bad reputation and loss of fans, record plays and respect from A LOT of fans and colleagues. What more will he have to endure before he can get at least half his respect back?? Don't get me wrong, I'm not condoning his actions, I'm not even saying I'm on his side, the question that is being raised is, does this man deserve a second chance?

Chris Brown is a very talented young man. He is one of the few artists that could've been the next Michael Jackson. Like Michael Jackson, it took one situation and biased media to virtually ruin his career.

In an age where the media and paparazzi are a lot more invasive than they were within the last decade, it is almost impossible to repair a negative image. Whether he can get back on top remains to be seen, but the lesson here has definitely been that our personal actions have a profound effect on our professional careers and vice versa.
